I am an artist and interactive/experience designer studying at Carnegie Mellon pursuing a Masters of Entertainment Technology. I enjoy all forms of art, design, and storytelling, but am especially interested in using these elements to create immersive experiences through interactivity and themed entertainment.
At the ETC I have had the opportunity to combine my interests, on projects that use a variety of technology and serve different purposes. Projects I have worked on range from games for entertainment on the Kinect and EyeGaze, to educational installations at local middle schools. I am currently working on a semester project, producing two short animated films. I will be developing story and concept art for one piece and working with motion graphics, textures and editing on the other.
I like design because it brings together many different disciplines and ideas, so there is always something new to learn or do. It is capable of blending visual and experiential elements together to create something engaging and meaningful, which is what I hope to achieve as a designer.
I love to learn and try new things, because that is where I find a lot of inspiration for concepts or designs. Some of my current interests include reading, swimming, theater, playing the ukelele, and ballroom dancing.
